This easy, one-bowl recipe features ripe bananas, rolled oats, and applesauce for a soft, chewy texture, with optional mix-ins like nuts, seeds, or dried fruit for added flavor and nutrients.

Healthy Banana Oatmeal Snack Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts or seeds (such as walnuts, almonds, or chia seeds – optional)
  • ¼ cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, or chopped dates – optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven– Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the Bananas– In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix the Ingredients-Stir in the applesauce, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using), then add the rolled oats. Mix well until everything is combined. If using nuts, seeds, or dried fruit, fold them in at this stage.
  4. Bake the Bars– Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down evenly with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bars are golden and firm to the touch.
  5. Cool and Slice- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
