National Integrated Health Associates, or NIHA, is a leading integrative medical and dental center in Washington, D.C. since 1995.

Over 25 years ago, the founders of National Integrated Health Associates had a vision. They noticed that traditional health care was not giving people what they needed to get better. Appointments were rushed, and prescription medication was too often the only answer.

National Integrated Health Associates (NIHA) integrative doctors and dentists blend the best of western medicine and safe, natural therapies for comprehensive holistic treatment to help the body heal. Our professional health team is comprised of holistic, integrative and functional medical physicians, holistic dentists, a pediatrician, naturopaths, chiropractor, and health professionals highly skilled in acupuncture, nutrition, massage and other healing therapies, all in one location.

The founders and many of the doctors and dentists are considered pioneers and experts in their respective fields. One of the highlights in our long history, and a principle of integrative medicine, is an on-site full-service lab where patients can get IV treatment and advanced lab and functional medicine testing needed to diagnose the root cause of a health issue.

 

Healthier Living Before it Was Popular: Clean Eating, Fewer Chemicals, Less Medication

 

When we started, the hazards of chemicals, plastics, pollution, silver fillings and processed food were not common knowledge. Maybe we were a little ahead of the curve. But now, thankfully, most of our patients are well-educated on the impact of diet, chemicals and lifestyle factors on their health. Other patients come to us because traditional medical care for chronic disease just doesn’t seem to be working, and they want more options. A natural or holistic and integrative approach is important for wellness, disease prevention and disease management, and finding a caring medical partner to help make the shift to an integrative approach can be the difference between short-term improvements and long-term better health.

The founders have created a caring environment where there is a new level of compassionate medical and dental care. The greatest joy for all of us comes from seeing patients get better.
