Warning Signs of Pre-Diabetes and Insulin Resistance

Diabetes is an illness caused by high levels of blood glucose resulting from inappropriate insulin production and/or defective insulin action. People with diabetes are more susceptible to other illness such as stroke or heart attack, and often have poor or slow healing.

 

Warning Signs of Insulin Resistance/Pre-diabetes

–  sugar cravings

–  fatigue, especially after meals

–  high blood pressure

–  high triglycerides

–  hypoglycemia

–  low HDL

–  high cholesterol

–  inflammation in the body

Family History that May contribute to Diabetes or Insulin Resistance 

–  heart disease

–  obesity

–  stroke

–  dementia

Fact:  Pre-diabetes carries with it all the risks of having full blown diabetes
